Tattoo Aftercare

with Saniderm

    • Leave saniderm on for 3 days minimum, 7 days maximum. If the bandage starts to come off prematurely, send me a message and I will give you futher instruction.

    • Avoid excess sweating while the bandage is on to avoid sweat pooling under the bandage.

    • It is normal for ink and plasma to gather underneath the bandage. If you are concerned don’t hesitate to contact me.

    • Remove Saniderm in a warm shower to soften the adhesive.

    • DO NOT forcefully rip off the bandage, this can cause damage to your new tattoo underneath

    • A scab may form over the tattoo, allow this to flake off naturally over time. DO NOT pick the scab.

    • The tattoo may become very itchy, this means it’s healing! DO NOT scratch your new tattoo.

    • Wash your new tattoo with gentle, unscenting soap and warm water.

    • Moisturize your tattoo a couple times a day at most when it feels dry and tight with an unscented water based moisturizer. DO NOT use oil based lotions, like Vaseline or Polysporin.

    • Do not submerge your new tattoo for the first two weeks. Absolutely no hot tubs, as they can cause serious infection.

    • Do not expose your new tattoo to direct sunlight and/or artificial tanning for the first six weeks.

with a bandage

    • Leave the bandage on until you get home or a maximum of 3 hours. If the bandage falls off DO NOT put it back on!

    • DO NOT let people rouch your fresh tattoo! This can cause infection.

    • Once you get home wash your tattoo with gentle, unscented soap and lukewarm water.

    • Gently pat dry, do not rub with towel or anything else.
