Artists statement

I grew up in the beautiful small town of Lake Cowichan and spent my childhood drawing and creating everyday since the moment I could hold a pencil. My creativity and talent were always supported and nurtured as best they could be in the small town. Eventually this led me to enroll in Victoria College of Art where I achieved my Diploma of Fine Art and later on to Vancouver Island University’s Fine Arts program.

My interest in tattoos started when I was around 12 years old when I saw my dad getting tattoos, the artist gave me some pointers and I’ve never looked back. I started my apprenticeship in 2015 and have been tattooing on and off ever since. I found a space where I could grow and thrive with Rose Friesen at Rockabilly Rose Tattoos, where her tutelage turned me in the right direction. I’ve found my path in tattooing and strive to create an open, welcoming and inclusive space where my values can be at the forefront of every action. I endeavor to make as little a mark on the Earth as possible, leaving only beautiful artwork, tattoos, memories and happiness behind.

I believe that tattoos are an expression of your inner self upon your outer self. I’m very honoured that people trust me to help them express themselves in such a personal way.
